United cuts business fares

Published on .

Chicago--United Airlines, which is in Chapter 11bankruptcy proceedings, announced Monday that it is reducing business fares at its two main hubs, Chicago and Denver. United said that with no advance purchase, customers could receive up to 40% off coach fares with no minimum or Saturday night stay requirements, though discounted tickets would be nonrefundable. “United has been listening to our customers and testing variations of this new fare concept for more than a year in numerous Chicago and Denver markets,” said Chris Bowers, senior VP-sales and reservations, in a statement.
