UPS debuts new service for navigating international shipping

Published on .

Atlanta--United Parcel Service of America Wednesday debuted Global Advisor, an online resource for small and midsize businesses that want to ship overseas.

Global Advisor includes tips on providing accurate documentation on a country-by-country basis, links to online export forms, information about insurance, and ideas for finding new customers and suppliers overseas.

"To ship internationally requires a lot of documentation, and it varies country to country," said Christine McManus, a spokeswoman at UPS. "For the entrepreneur, it can be difficult to navigate."

UPS Store franchisees last week underwent formal training to help them educate business customers about international shipping.
