Urban Expositions buys restaurant, lodging trade shows

Published on .

Atlanta—Urban Expositions has acquired the U.S. restaurant and lodging trade show portfolio of Reed Exhibitions and the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show from the New York State Restaurant Association. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. The events acquired from London-based Reed Exhibitions, a division of Reed Elsevier, include the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show, Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo and Expo Comida Latina. Although Urban Expositions has already assumed ownership of the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo, to be held next week, and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show, scheduled for next month, Reed Exhibitions will manage the two events. As part of the agreement, members of the team that has been running these events for Reed will join Urban Expositions, the company said in a statement.
