USA Chicago, a 20-year-old ad agency, specializes in interactive marketing and technology, and has clients including Bosch Group and PackExpo, a trade show for the packaging industry. USA Chicago had billings of $5 million in 2000.
The merger will build on Slack Barshinger's creative focus and USA Chicago's technology focus, and result in a "packaging powerhouse" offering CRM, virtual networks and possibly software development, according to company officials.
Patrick Yanahan, USA Chicago's CEO, will assume the position of exec VP and partner. The company will practice under the Slack Barshinger brand.
