‘USA Today,’ Point Roll debut rich media ad format for iPhone

San Francisco—Gannett Co.’s PointRoll and USA Today this week debuted the first expandable, rich media ad units specifically created for the Apple iPhone. The new PointRoll product, which launched on the USA Today mobile site, featured ad campaigns for Ford Motor Co. and the new film “Burn After Reading.” The mobile ads provide video click-to-play, coupon downloads, integrated mapping technology directly linked to Google Maps and user-initiated click-to-call.
