USDATA revenue down sharply

Richardson, Texas--USDATA Corp., an industrial software automation company, reported second-quarter revenue declined 30% from a year earlier to $2.7 million. Revenues for the first half decreased 27% to $5.3 million. The company lost $435,000 in the second quarter, compared with a profit of $61,000 in the year-earlier quarter. President-CEO Bob Merry said the company has cut expenses, expanded its product line, improved its distribution strategy and will invest aggressively in customer service in the face of declines.
