ValueClick to acquire Commission Junction

Westlake Village, Calif.--ValueClick announced plans to acquire Commission Junction, an affiliate marketing company based in Santa Barbara, Calif., for $58 million in cash plus shares of ValueClick stock. ValueClick, an online advertising company, will merge Commission Junction into its Be Free subsidiary, which powers affiliate marketing programs for more than 200 sites including Best Buy, CiteFinancial, Staples and Travelocity. Commission Junction has affiliate partnerships with clients including MSN, eBay, Overture and Quicken Loans, and generates leads for merchants on a pay-for-lead or revenue-sharing model. The merger is expected to close in November.
