ValueClick to acquire Mediaplex for $43.9 million

Westlake Village, Calif.--ValueClick Inc., a developer of performance-based advertising software, plans to buy Mediaplex Inc., a digital messaging company, in a stock deal valued at $43.9 million. San Francisco-based Mediaplex will become a wholly owned subsidiary of ValueClick. ValueClick, whose clients include American Express Co. and GlaxoSmithKline plc, will gain the clients of MediaPlex, including Wells Fargo & Co. and Motorola Corp.
