New York—John J. Veronis announced Thursday that he has withdrawn from partnership in Veronis Suhler Stevenson, the private equity firm he co-founded in 1981. Veronis served as chairman and co-CEO of VSS.

“I take enormous pride in the firm I helped to create,” Veronis said in a statement. “I am leaving behind an organization with a strong reputation and a group of experienced professionals. My withdrawal from participation in the firm, which effectuates a long-contemplated transition, is another step in the evolution of VSS, and I wish the firm and its partners and employees success in their future activities,”

Although his partnership interest has been redeemed by the firm, Veronis will maintain his investment commitments to VSS funds. Jeffrey T. Stevenson will continue to serve as managing partner of VSS. John Suhler, who co-founded the firm with Veronis, continues as president.
