VerticalNet gets $3M tax break from Pa., will add 1,000 jobs

Horsham, Pa.--VerticalNet Inc. will get a $3 million economic incentive package from the state of Pennsylvania, Governor Tom Ridge announced. In turn, the company will add 1,000 jobs and is investing some $15 million in its headquarters. The announcement comes soon after VerticalNet tapped Joe Galli, a Southwestern Pennsylvania native and former Amazon.com COO, as the b-to-b company's president-CEO.
