Verticalnet wins IKEA trading hub contract

Almhult, Sweden and Malvern, Pa.--Verticalnet Inc., a b-to-b e-commerce software company, announced Tuesday that the IKEA group of companies has awarded Verticalnet Inc. a contract to build its private trading hub. This agreement licenses IKEA the full suite of Verticalnet’s applications, including strategic sourcing, collaborative planning and multi-tier order management. IKEA is establishing a private trading hub to connect and communicate with internal units and external trading partners that make up its global supply chain. Separately, Amazing Media, which markets an online advertising program, on Tuesday announced a partnership with Verticalnet Small/Medium Business Group, a division of Verticalnet. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the terms of the agreement, Verticalnet SMB has deployed Amazing Media's AdVariant program, an online advertising program that enables Web properties to serve small and midsize businesses.
