Vignette teams with Sun

Published on .

Austin--First IBM Corp. Now Sun Microsystems. E-business platform vendor Vignette Corp. is banking its future on some high-profile partnerships. This week, Vignette inked a deal with Sun to jointly develop e-business software and hardware products. It's an intriguing deal because Vignette has traditionally competed in the commerce server market with Sun and its iPlanet subsidiary, which was formed last year in partnership with Netscape. Last week, Vignette cut a similar co-development and marketing deal with IBM, a Sun hardware rival. Vignette's V/5 e-business suite allows companies to deliver personalized Web content and commerce.
