San Francisco--Visa U.S.A. has entered a deal with Austin, Texas-based Works Inc. to develop and market an e-spending platform to midsize companies. Visa U.S.A., a unit of Visa International, the world's largest credit card organization, will offer Active Card Control, a platform that will allow businesses to manage their Visa accounts online, streamlining, for example, the monitoring of back-office spending. To date, most competing platforms have been aimed at large companies. Most of the marketing efforts will be aimed at Visa's 21,000 member banks.
