VNU agrees to sell CMR to Taylor Nelson Sofres

Haarlem, The Netherlands--VNU announced Monday that is has agreed to sell New York-based Competitive Media Reporting to Taylor Nelson Sofres for $88 million in cash. CMR monitors advertising expenditures in a range of media for advertisers, ad agencies, radio and TV stations, and publishers. In October 1999, after acquiring Nielsen Media Research, VNU reached an agreement with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to sell CMR.
