VNU reaches tentative agreement to sell Competitive Media Reporting

Haarlem, Netherlands--VNU N.V. announced it has reached a tentative agreement with the staff of the Federal Trade Commission to sell its Competitive Media Reporting division, which tracks advertising expenditures. The agreement, which has not yet been officially accepted by the FTC for public comment, is intended to clear the way for VNU to complete its acquisition of Nielsen Media Research, which has its own advertising expenditure tracking business in Monitor-Plus.
