Cincinnati—Wachovia Capital Partners has acquired George E. Fern Co., a provider of products and services to trade show management companies and exhibitors.

Fern, which was founded in 1909, serves nearly 1,000 trade shows annually.

“Fern is an excellent brand, with a reputation for superior capabilities and excellent customer service,” Art Roselle, a partner at Wachovia Capital Partners, said in a statement. “Fern will continue to operate independently under its own name.”

Mike Cox is being promoted from national sales manager at Fern to general manager. George Budig, Fern’s CEO, and Anthony Lestingi, senior VP, will serve as consultants.

The deal was announced by Jordan, Edmiston Group, which represented Fern in the transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
