Wachtel joins ‘Wall Street Journal’ as VP-marketing and business development

New York—Media and marketing veteran David Wachtel has been named VP-marketing and business development of The Wall Street Journal. The announcement was made in a memo from by L. Gordon Crovitz, president of Dow Jones Consumer Media Group and publisher of the Journal, and Judy Barry, who last week announced she would soon resign as senior VP-sales and marketing of the Journal. Last year, Wachtel joined the U.S. arm of European-based Superfund Asset Management, where he was responsible for marketing, advertising and public relations. He was previously a senior executive in the media operations of Bloomberg LP.
