New York—McGraw-Hill Cos. has named Lloyd G. “Buzz” Waterhouse as president-CEO of McGraw-Hill Education, a new position. He will start in the role on June 14.
Waterhouse was most recently CEO of Harcourt Education. He also held executive positions at IBM Corp. and Reynolds & Reynolds.
“My lifetime commitment to learning and to technology convinces me that it's time to accelerate the transformation to digital education so that students, teachers and administrators can reach their real potential and improve learning for all students everywhere in the world,” Waterhouse said in a statement.
Robert Bahash, who had been president of McGraw-Hill Education, retired in May.
The move appears to take McGraw-Hill one step closer to realizing its plan, announced last year, of splitting into two companies: McGraw-Hill Financial and McGraw-Hill Education.
