Published on .

Mt. Morris, Ill.--Watt Publishing Co., a publisher of agriculture and food processing magazines, on Wednesday announced it has acquired Des Plaines, Ill.-based Chartwell Communications, which publishes CabinetMaker, FDM and Upholstery Design & Management.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal is designed to diversify Watt Publishing's holdings, said James Watt, chairman-CEO.

Watt also told BtoB that he plans to boost revenues at Chartwell by expanding beyond print publications into trade shows, e-mail newsletters and international ventures.

The Jordan Edmiston Group Inc., a New York-based investment bank, represented Watt Publishing during the acquisition.
