Web ad revenue surpassed $5.2 billion in third quarter, setting new record

New York—Internet advertising revenues rose to $5.2 billion in the third quarter, up $1.1 billion, or 25.3%, from the same period in 2006, according to a report released Monday by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The results, published in the “IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report,” broke the previous high of $5.1 billion, set in the second quarter.

Revenue for the first nine months of the year totaled $15.2 billion, up nearly 26% from $12.1 billion during the same period in 2006.
