WebEx to launch new ad campaign starring Lily Tomlin

San Jose--Web conferencing service provider WebEx Communications Inc. is planning to launch a new series of ads in September, starring comedian Lily Tomlin.

The campaign, with the tagline “The New Ringy Dingy,” initially launched in January, and revives Tomlin’s telephone operator character Ernestine from the “Laugh-In” TV series.

In the campaign, which includes TV, print and radio ads, Tomlin is a global communications consultant who promotes the business benefits of the WebEx conferencing system. The campaign was created by San Francisco ad agency BigMouth.

In a first for the company, WebEx will host an online focus group Wednesday to test various executions of the ads. Participants may sign up for the focus group at www.webex.com/calltheshots.
