WebMediaBrands acquires Social Times

New York—WebMediaBrands, which owns MediaBistro.com, announced Friday that it acquired all shares of Social Times, a media company that covers social media. The acquisition includes two social media blogs (AllFacebook.com and SocialTimes.com), a trade show and an online learning school.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“In addition to gaining these great assets, we are also obtaining the services of Nick O'Neill, who created all of these properties and will be assuming a significant role in growing our social media offerings in coming years,” Alan M. Meckler, chairman-CEO of WebMediaBrands, said in a statement.
