WebMethods to buy IntelliFrame for $31M

Fairfax, Va.-WebMethods Inc., a b-to-b software developer, plans to buy Intelliframe Corp., a New York-based competitor, for $31.3 million in cash and stock. WebMethods is buying IntelliFrame for its research and development capabilities, according to a statement. The deal reflects ongoing consolidation in the b-to-b software marketplace. To date, WebMethods has earned a reputation for its international aggressiveness; recently, it not only started a European alliance, but also launched a Japanese unit.
