Published on .

San Diego—WebSideStory Inc., an on-demand digital marketing company, announced it has acquired Visual Sciences, a Web analytics company. The cash and stock deal is valued at $57.3 million.

The acquisition gives WebSideStory access to Visual Science’s segmentation, multichannel and real-time data visualization capabilities. It also will create cross-sellling opportunities for both companies.

Visual Sciences becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of WebSideStory. Founders Jim MacIntyre and David Scherer will serve as the unit’s CEO and CTO, respectively.
