Webtrends acquires multivariate testing company Widemile

Portland, Ore.—Web analytics company Webtrends Inc. has agreed to acquire Widemile Inc., a Seattle-based company that provides multivariate testing and Web site optimization technologies and services. The addition of multivariate and A/B testing to its analytics capabilities will provide better analysis of Web page effectiveness, Webtrends said. Widemile's solution automatically optimizes a site with better-performing pages through testing and interpretation of customers' online behaviors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
