Tom Rousseau, who had been working in the ZDE sales department, has been named to the newly created position of president of sales. Rousseau previously worked at both IDG Corp. and CMP. (Weitzner was CEO of CMP from September 2005 to November 2007.)
Jeff Smith has been named to the newly created position of chief audience officer, and Adam Taff has been named to the newly created position of senior VP-operations. Both Smith and Taff had been working as in-house consultants at ZDE since the company was acquired by private equity firm Insight Venture Partners last summer for about $150 million.
Martha Schwartz, who had been senior VP of the custom solutions group at ZDE since 2005, has left the company. There is no search for a successor, according to the company.
ZDE’s assets include Baseline, CIO Insight, eWEEK, channelinsider.com, deviceforge.com, microsoft-watch.com and webbuyersguide.com. It also has a database of 3.5 million business and technology users.
