Sunrise, Fla.--WildCard Systems L.L.C. said Wednesday that it has signed a three-year global strategic alliance to provide Visa International bank customers with smart-card systems. The deal, which also covers Internet payment and other areas, will allow Visa member banks to use WildCard’s Web site to set up stored-value programs on behalf of themselves and their clients. WildCard Systems and Visa will also explore ways they can use personal digital assistants and mobile phones to run smart-card and stored-value payment programs. The two companies have been working together since 1999, when Visa USA tapped WildCard to manage its Visa TravelMoney program, which is an alternative to travelers’ checks.
