New York--Women-owned businesses spent about $18.5 billion online in 2000, or 46% of all online spending by small businesses, according to a new report released by Cyber Dialogue, "Marketing to Women Owners of Small Businesses." "Women-owned firms are strongly concentrated in the two highest-value spending segments of retail and business services, which together account for 48% of all b-to-b online spending," said Joie Anderson, a Cyber Dialogue senior analyst, in a statement.
