WorldCrest expands e-procurement services beyond parent company

Published on .

New York--Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., the world’s top private equity firm, will for the first time allow its portfolio company WorldCrest, a b-to-b e-procurement services start-up, to work with outside companies. To date, Atlanta-based WorldCrest, which is majority owned by KKR, has only developed e-buying plans for other KKR portfolio companies. The deal is significant because it represents KKR’s further entrenchment into b-to-b e-commerce. Compared to other private equity firms, KKR was late to the Internet space, but has made up much ground of late.
