Worldwide ad growth spurred by digital, mobile

New York—Global ad spending will rise 2.8% to $517.1 billion by the end of the year, driven by continuing adoption of digital devices and Internet connectivity, according to a report from eMarketer Inc. According to eMarketer's “Global Media Intelligence Report,” digital ads are driving the increase, with spending forecast to reach $117.6 billion this year, up 13.0% over 2012. The largest ad growth within digital is coming from mobile, expected to rise to $15.8 billion, an increase of 79.7% compared with 2012. In North America, ad spending this year will increase 3.6% to $184.7 billion.
