WPP acquires stake in Globant

London—Ad agency holding company WPP has acquired a 20% stake in Globant, a Buenos Aires -based digital marketing technology company, for about $70 million. Globant employs 2,700 engineers, marketing specialists and designers in 21 offices in 14 cities in South America, the U.K. and in Boston and San Francisco. The company specializes in Big Data, cloud computing, gamification and social networks. Globant's clients include American Express Co., Google Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and LinkedIn Inc.
