WPP reports higher revenue, profit

New York—Advertising holding company WPP Group, which includes Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide among its agencies, reported Friday that its reportable revenue for the first half of 2008 rose 14.3% to $6.193 billion. The company said its “headline profit” before taxes climbed 15.1% to $721.7 million.
