WPP’s GroupM bullish on global media and marketing spending

London—WPP Group's GroupM, which oversees media agencies MAXUS, MediaCom, Mediaedge:cia and Mindshare, predicts worldwide media and marketing services spending will grow 6.2% this year to $673 billion and 6.0% in 2007 to $713 billion.

GroupM said principal contributors by volume to this year’s media spending are the U.S. (23%), China (21%) and Brazil (15%). GroupM arrived at the numbers by gathering market knowledge from its network of agencies and from the WPP network overall.
