WSJ launches MoneyBeat blog

Published on .

New York—The Wall Street Journal has consolidated six of its blogs into one new one covering global finance, markets, and mergers and acquisitions. The blog, called MoneyBeat, will incorporate content that had been in such others as MarketBeat, Overheard, The Source and all the Deal Journals. The former blogs will remain on the website, but no new content will be added and users will be automatically redirected to MoneyBeat. The blog includes news features including “The Big Number,” a blog post and accompanying print column that will appear on Mondays in the U.S. edition of Money & Investing. The new unified hub of news and analysis is designed to complement the Journal's financial coverage by delving deeper into topics within markets and finance, and by highlighting personalities in the news, from hedge fund giants to private-equity titans, according to a statement.
