WSJ.com unveils ‘Add to Foursquare’ function

By Published on .

New York—The Wall Street Journal Online announced Monday that it is the first site to introduce the “Add to Foursquare” function. Foursquare is a social media platform that enables users to earn points for visiting restaurants, museums and other venues.

With the Add to Foursquare function, which will appear near restaurant reviews and other cultural stories on WSJ.com, users will be able to add venues to their Foursquare to-do lists directly from the stories. “By integrating Foursquare functions with Wall Street Journal editorial content, we are making that content even more relevant and useful to those who rely on our coverage to help plan their activities,” Kevin Delaney, managing editor of WSJ.com, said in a statement.

The move is part of the Journal’s efforts to step up its coverage of New York following the launch earlier this year of its Greater New York edition.
