‘Baseline’ opts for more interactive-looking format

New York—Ziff Davis Media’s Baseline will introduce a new format in June that will further integrate the monthly print publication (125,000 circ.) with Baseline’s Web site Stephen Veith, VP-publishing director of Ziff Davis Enterprise Group, said in a news release: “The new format reflects the communication style of the Internet, which is about ‘informational transactions’—solid packets of useful, straightforward information in sidebars and boxes.” Ziff Davis said Baseline’s ad pages rose 20% in the first quarter compared with the year-earlier period. Baseline, which was launched in 2001 amid the downturn in technology markets, has won several Jesse H. Neal Awards, including the Grand Neal Award in 2005.
