‘Billboard’ inks deal to distribute content in Japan

New York—Billboard, the 112-year-old music industry trade title owned by VNU Business Media, has signed an agreement with Tokyo-based Hanshin Contents Link to distribute Billboard’s content in Japan. Financial terms were not disclosed. A Web site (www.billboard-japan.com) will be launched later this year as a portal for music information, charts, music downloads, CD/DVD merchandise and other music-related products. Also, Hanshin will operate Billboard Live clubs in Osaka and Fukuoka as well as a venue opening in Tokyo next summer that will offer live music.
