‘BusinessWeek’ Editor in Chief Shepard to retire

New York—The McGraw-Hill Cos.’ BusinessWeek announced that Editor in Chief Stephen B. Shepard will retire, effective April 1, 2005. He plans to become the founding dean of the new Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.

Shepard, who has worked at BusinessWeek for 32 years, presided over a lauded redesign of the magazine last year. "Simply put, there is no finer magazine editor working today than Steve Shepard," Harold McGraw III, McGraw-Hill’s chairman-president-CEO, said in a statement.
