San Mateo, Calif.—CMP Media announced plans to relaunch Dr. Dobb’s Journal  and fold Software Development as a standalone publication. The revamped Dr. Dobb’s Journal, which targets professional software developers, managers and architects, will debut with the June issue. Its coverage will include areas that have been covered in Software Development. There have been no layoffs as a result of the change, said Stan Barnes, publisher and group director of the CMP Software Development Group. Dr. Dobb’s Journal will feature expanded editorial coverage and contributions from industry players on cross-platform software development processes, technologies, tools and management techniques. CMP also announced the launch of smallbizresource.com, featuring business and technology information for small office and home office (SOHO) business owners. The site offers original content and expert advice from CMP editors on a broad range of issues, including sales, marketing, finance, legal, HR, technology, growth and strategy.
