‘Wall Street Journal’ ad linage decreases

New York—Dow Jones & Co. reported Tuesday that advertising linage at The Wall Street Journal declined 8.2% in February compared with February 2004.

Financial advertising decreased 21.3% for the month, and technology advertising fell 30.7%.

Total national advertising pages for Barron’s decreased 7.5% for the month. The Wall Street Journal Europe’s linage decreased 22.9%, due to declines in financial, classified and technology advertising. The Asian Wall Street Journal’s linage decreased 8.6%, although it was up 1.5% on a per-issue basis.
