Yahoo!, Cisco finalize e-mail authentication framework

Sunnyvale, Calif.—As expected, Yahoo! and Cisco have finalized a unified e-mail authentication framework called DomainKeys Identified Mail, or DKIM. The specs were submitted for approval to the Internet Engineering Task Force on July 9. The two companies had been working to combine their cryptographic-based e-mail authentication proposals—Yahoo!’s DomainKeys and Cisco’s Internet Identified Mail—into one solution.
