Santa Clara, Calif.--Karen Edwards, Yahoo!'s longtime VP-worldwide marketing, will resign in October. The company is currently seeking a replacement, said Nicki Dugan, a Yahoo! spokesperson. Dugan said Edwards wants to spend more time with her 2-year-old child and is seeking other business opportunities. Edwards did not return calls by press time. Edwards' resignation comes soon after the departure of other top Yahoo! executives, including CEO Tim Koogle and sales head Anil Singh. The company is reeling from the slowdown in online advertising. Last April, it hired Hollywood veteran Terry Semel as chairman-CEO and charged him with engineering a turnaround.
