Moscow—Yandex, the Russian Internet and search engine company, will allow advertisers running contextual ads on its advertising network to include images to improve their impact.
Advertisements with images can be placed on such Yandex services as maps, weather and the Fotki photo service, Yandex said in a statement. Sites in the Yandex Advertising Network can join the program March 28.
The Yandex Advertising Network had a combined daily audience of 55.8 million as of January. Yandex is the world's fourth-largest search engine.
