We launched Media Business as a brand extension of BtoB in June 2003, and since then we have focused considerable attention on our industry and given you more and better information about companies large and small than ever was available before. There are more than 5,000 business publishing executives like you reading us every month, and more than 6,000 reading our weekly Media Business e-mail newsletter.
In a very short amount of time, Media Business has become widely read and supported by enough advertisers to be profitable.
Last month, we celebrated our second anniversary and honored some of the best in our business at a very upbeat second annual Top Innovators in Business Publishing Awards luncheon in Manhattan.
What was truly moving about the event was having the best and brightest leaders of large and small companies on the same stage, executives who have grappled with similar problems and come up with unique solutions. This event once again reminded me of what a great industry we are part of and how strong it really is.
I know we are having a lot of fun publishing Media Business and BtoB, and that it’s a lot more fun for all of us in our business today than it was a few years ago.
Our industry is poised for big changes over the next few years, and I know you will learn from our pages how to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities.
