'New York Times' debuts text messaging service

Published on .

New York—The New York Times on Friday announced the introduction of a text messaging service that delivers content from the newspaper and the Times Magazine to cell phones and mobile devices.

By sending a text message with the appropriate keyword to 698698 (NYTNYT) users can receive the latest three articles from a given section or the most recent column from columnists covering business, health and technology, for example.

Articles can be displayed on any type of cell phone or PDA.
