'New York Times' debuts Times Reader

New York—The New York Times on Thursday launched Times Reader, which enables readers to navigate the online newspaper similarly as with the print edition.

The Times Reader is available in a free beta form at nytimes.com and downloadable for Times readers who use Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista.

The text in Times Reader is displayed in a format to fit the size and layout of any computer and enables readers to personalize the display.

“Times Reader is an opportunity for our readers to experience the paper in a new way and provides advertisers with greater visibility for their ads,” said Vivian Schiller, senior VP-general manager of NYTimes.com, in a news release.
