New York Times expands conferences internationally

New York—The New York Times Co. will hold its first International New York Times-branded conferences in Hong Kong and Singapore in October. The timing of the conferences closely follows the rebranding of the International Herald Tribune newspaper and website as the International New York Times in October. The conferences and rebranding “reflect the Times' deepening commitment to Asia and global expansion,” the company said in a statement. The two events are the first international extensions of two conferences recently launched by the Times. The International New York Times' “DealBook: Global Outlook” conference, to be held Oct. 21 in Hong Kong, will be hosted by DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin. The first DealBook conference took place in New York last December. On Oct. 25 in Singapore, Times op-ed columnist Thomas Friedman will host the “Next New World Global Forum.” The premiere Next New World forum was held in San Francisco in June.
