‘New York Times’ to reduce number of printed sections in New York metro area

Published on .

New York—The New York Times reported that it plans to “reduce the number of sections printed in the New York metropolitan area, in a move to save money on production.”

Specifically, the newspaper said, “The ‘Metro’ report will become part of the newspaper’s A section, which also contains the ‘International’ and ‘National’ reports, and the editorial and Op-Ed pages, on Mondays through Saturdays, and possibly on Sundays, as well.” ‘Sports’ will be a part of the ‘Business Day’ section Tuesday through Friday but will remain a separate section on weekends and Monday. The changes, which will not affect the national edition of the Times, are slated to take effect Oct. 6.
