New York--The New York Times Co. on Wednesday announced that ad revenue for the company's flagship New York Times
fell 5% in the first quarter, compared with the same period last year. Revenue declined to $105.7 million from $111.3 million a year earlier. National advertising revenue decreased mostly because of softness in financial services and technology products advertising. Overall ad revenue for The Times'
newspaper group, which includes The Boston Globe,
fell almost 9% in the first quarter.
