Needham, Mass.--Ziff-Davis' ZD Events is launching a $5 million branding campaign for its mammoth Comdex computer trade show. The campaign, which will emphasize Comdex's relevance to the Internet and feature the tagline "Technology for the new e-conomy" kicks off with a placement in Thursday's edition of The Wall Street Journal. Additional print insertions will run in PC Magazine, PC World, PC Week, Information Week, CIO, Industry Standard and Advertising Age. The in-house campaign is also slated to appear on multiple CNN Channels, the Weather Channel and CNBC. Comdex attendance has lagged in recent years as a host of smaller, more focused information technology trade shows has appeared.
